He thanked Globacom for the opportunity accorded him, adding that the skills and valuable coaching he received from the technical team at the Academy will continue to guide his football career.

Speaking at the occasion, a community leader, Chief James Okoro commended Samson for braving all odds to qualify for the Academy, adding that the evictee has brought honour to Benneth Carr community, for being a member of the last 33 boys that participated in Glo Soccer Academy.

He was among the over 7,000 youths screened across various cities in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic.

He advised him not to rest on his oars, but continue to use the wealth of experience garnered at the Academy to develop his game further.

Elder Okoro commended Globacom for taking the lead in Nigeria and Africa in Sports development.

“I commend Globacom for its effort in developing youths like our own James Samson. Nigeria stands to gain extensively from this gallant effort,” he concluded.
