The Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC,is planning to start early preparations for the athletes that would represent the country at the next Commonwealth Games, taking place in Glasgow.

Nigeria finished in ninth position at the last Commonwealth Games, held in New Delhi in 2010,with the NOC looking at improving on that position.

Secretary of the NOC, Tunde Popoola, said that the athletes can improve on the 11 gold, 8 silver and 14 bronze medals, they won in India, if the team can be given adequate concentration as the one, the Super Eagles of Nigeria got.

“The Super Eagles are the African champions but that’s because they got the funding and the support as at when due.”
