The Nigeria National team defeated Club Cricket Committee, CCC League selected eleven in a friendly match at the TBS cricket oval by 194 runs.
The match was a build up game for the Nigerian team ahead of their participation at the International Cricket Council -World Division 7 League, 50 overs tournament.
The national team batted first and scored 320 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. Kunle Adegbola scored 146 runs off 95 balls, Ricky Shalma had 52 runs off 72 balls, Segun Olayinka scored 34 runs off, Ademola Onikoyi had 30 runs off 33 balls.
From the bowling side, Sola Anyia took 3 wickets for 49 runs in 9 overs, Osita Onwuzulike took 2 wickets for 46 runs in 5 overs, while Femi Oduyebo took a wicket for 48 runs in 9 overs.
In the second innings, Yemi Adegbola had 30 runs off 34 balls, Leke Oyede scored 21 runs off 18 balls, Yemi Amusa scored 17 runs off 26 balls, Femi Oduyebo had 16 runs off 27 balls.
From the bowling side, Joshua Ogunlola took 5 wickets for 19 runs in 7 overs, Seye Olympio got 2 wickets for 17 runs in 5.1 overs.
Speaking after the match, national coach, Uthe Ogbemi said the players are preparing for the ODI 50 overs competition.
“We are working very hard because the tournament is a different format, longer faction and this is a tourney the boys are looking forward to.
“Training for the ICC-World Division 7 has started a week and half ago. The target is clear. We are going to the tournament to win or come second to gain promotion to Division 6,” Ogbemi said.
