Martinez Resigns As Wigan Manager

Roberto Martinez has resigned as manager of Wigan.

The Spaniard led the club to an historic FA Cup triumph this season but could not prevent relegation from the English Premier League, EPL.

The decision has been announced after 39-year-old Martinez held talks with Wigan chairman Dave Whelan in the past week.

Martinez, who joined Wigan in June 2009, is one of the leading contenders to take over at Everton.
