A member of the House of Representatives, Olumide Osoba, has said that Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State is talking “trash” for tying Nigeria’s stability to the stability of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Osoba, a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency of Ogun State, tweeted on the twitter handle, @Olumide_Osoba.

Governor Dickson, while giving his acceptance speech as chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, in Abuja, said that the crisis in the PDP had precipitated “sustained and several attacks” on “our nation’s unity”.

The governor hinged his belief of a shared fate between the PDP and the nation on “the party’s spread and its unbroken hold on power in the last 14 years,” describing it as “the strongest centripetal force that holds the diverse country together irrespective of the threat to its very existence as an indivisible country”.

Dickson lauded that the PDP as being the only party, which since pre-independence ensured that a minority become president.

But Osoba sharply disagreed, describing Dickson as an “installed governor”, while blaming the party for the “instability in the country”.

“The problem we have in Nigeria is (that) the ruling party at the center believes they know it all and only them (sic) have a right to the Presidency.

Nigeria would be more stable and (will)develop faster if the Poverty Development Party (PDP) is (sic) defeated and pushed out of the Presidency. Such talk is trash”, he said.

The son of former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, stated it is rather the opposite.

“The sooner PDP is dismantled and destablized (sic), the sooner we would be free from their bondage of corruption and under-performance and grow,” he said.
