Osoba’s son re-elected for 3rd time in Ogun

Rep. Olumide Osoba, son of the former Governor of Ogun, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has been declared winner of Saturday’s election for Obafemi/Owode/Odeda/ Abeokuta-North Federal Constituency on the platform of APC.

Prof. Olubukola Isah, INEC Returning Officer for the constituency, made the announcement on Monday at the Collation Centre in Abeokuta.

Isah said that Osoba polled 43, 446 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Yemi Coker of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 19, 699 votes.

“Olumide Osoba of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” Isah said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Osoba is returning to the National Assembly for the third time.

In a statement made available to NAN, Osoba thanked members of his constituency for giving him the opportunity to serve again.

He expressed gratitude to his campaign team, volunteers, family members and friends, saying, “I could not have been re-elected without you”.

“Above all, I want to thank you, the people of Odeda, Obafemi/ Owode and Abeokuta North for your unwavering support and encouragement.

“It has been a privilege to serve you over the past term and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue doing so,” Osoba said.
