Flour Mills, Guinness lose at Nigeria's exchange

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday continued on a downward trend as its indices depreciated by 0.58 per cent. The All-Share Index also dipped by 213.17 points to close at 36,345.33 from the 36,558.50 recorded on Tuesday.

Consequently, the market capitalisation which opened at N11.57 trillion dropped by N67 billion to close at N11.51trillion.

However, the volume of shares traded on Wednesday rose to 249.97 million shares worth N1.9 billion from the 198.15 million shares valued at N1.8 billion traded on Tuesday.

Flour Mills recorded the highest price loss of N7.08 to close at N69.48 per share.

Guinness trailed behind Flour Mills with a N4 loss to close at N254 per share, while Lafarge WAPCO dropped N1 to close at N93 per share.

GlaxoSmithKline led the price gainers’ chart by 40k to close at N65.40 per share.

Cadbury followed with 35k to close at N51.25 per share, while Okomu Oil grew by 30k to close at N45 per share.

Air Service appreciated by 28k to close at N4.28 per share, while Jos International Breweries rose by 13k to close at N1.52 per share. (NAN)
