Nwosu Hails Red Hot Eagles


Former Nigeria international, Henry Nwosu has described as positive development Super Eagles win against the Stallions of Burkina Faso in an international friendly yesterday.

The Super Eagles defeated their West African opponents 4-1 in the high-profile friendly game at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

Brown Ideye grabbed a brace while Shola Ameobi and Emmanuel Emenike scored a goal each in the thrilling encounter. Saidu Simpore scored the consolation goal for the 2013 AFCON runners-up.

Nwosu said the Eagles have shown steady and tremendous improvement in every other match the side have been involved under manager, Stephen Keshi.

“The 4-1 bashing of the Stallions of Burkina Faso by the Super Eagles is heartwarming and good omen as we all look forward to knowing our opponents for the final play-off of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification.

“The massive goal margin victory is reassuring that the Super Eagles will successfully deliver the World Cup ticket to Nigerians irrespective of who they play in the play-off.

“The team have shown great improvement with each match, growing from strength to strength as well as learning very fast under Keshi,” said Nwosu.
