Nigeria’s number one tennis player, Abdulmumuni Babalola is on his way to retaining the Men’s Singles event title he won at last year’s Dala Hard Court Championship in Kano.

Babalola, who started this year’s competition strongly, has been in devastating form, defeating all his opponents enroute the Quarter Final stage of the tourney.

The Ibadan-born tennis star who defeated Micheal Moses 6-2,6-4 in the second round will face another seeded player, Ekanem Etim in one of the quarter final matches to be decided tomorrow.

In other quarter final matches, Shehu Lawal will face a stiff opposition in Samuel Omoile as he hopes to win this year’s edition, Clifford Enosoregbe will lock horns with Joseph Imeh as Henry Atseye battles John Otu.

In the Women’s Singles, Blessing Samuel overpowered Donatus Loveth, 6-0,2-6,6-2 and she will now lock horns with Kienka Lolia in the semi final.

Ronke Akingbade will take on hard fighting sarah Adegoke in the second semi final clash which shall be decided tomorrow morning.

In the Men’s Doubles which is also in the semi final stage, the pair of Clifford Enosoregbe and Shehu Lawal will take on Samuel Omoile and Nonso Madueke while Abdulmumuni Babalola will pair Taiwo Owolabi to play against the pair of Bikom Albert and Tyav Tyolumum tomorrow afternoon.
