Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the western Nigerian state of Oyo today dissolved the boards of all the state-owned parastatals.

The dissolution contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo was said aimed at strengthening the parastatals for better service delivery.

The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing members of the boards for their commitment and service to the people of the state.

In another development, the governor in his new year message promised to consolidate on his achievements to make life more meaningful to the people in 2014 assuring them of new lease of life through aggressive infrastructural development.

He also said that the year 2014 would witness the granting of interest-free loans to traders, including those affected by the on-going removal of illegal structures across the state.

Governor Ajimobi said 2014 would be used to consolidate the on-going process of physical and social infrastructural development in the state adding that his administration has been able to make significant improvements in peace and security, health services, wealth creation and economic empowerment, environment and good governance, as well as infrastructure, staff development and welfare.

He also said that the year 2014 would witness the granting of interest-free loans to traders, including those affected by the on-going removal of illegal structures across the state.

According to him, his administration would continue to explore all possible avenues to make life worth living for the people of the state, who he said deserved even more, given their unflinching cooperation and support to his administration.
