The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has issued a warning to all 36
States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, not to miss the date for final matches of the state preliminaries for the 2014 Federation Cup.

Some weeks ago, the NFF rolled out the schedule for this year’s competition, making it clear that all states must play their final matches on or before 4 May.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Head of Federation Cup, Ruth David said the NFF would not tolerate a case of some states defaulting on the schedule.

“It is important that all states conclude their competitions this weekend and let us have the two representatives for the national finals. We will not have any state telling us that it has postponed its final match or shifted some games to a different date.

“This year is quite busy for the NFF with so many programmes lined up home and abroad. We want to keep firmly to the schedule and play the final match on Sunday, August 3 as has been announced.”
