The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, Mr Umar Shehu, on Wednesday, confirmed that gunmen killed two policemen and two women at Fadan Karshi, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to NAN, the attack on the police outpost occurred on Tuesday night.
Shehu, who spoke to newsmen when he visited the outpost, said that those killed on Tuesday were an Inspector, a Corporal and two women.
The commissioner, who said two of the gunmen were arrested and lynched, commended the host community for their support.
He urged them to be security conscious and to report any suspicious movement to appropriate authorities.
The Chairman of the council, Mr Emmanuel Adamu, had earlier decried the attack, saying that the incident had disrupted the existing peace of the area.
Adamu urged the community to remain calm.
