Brazil move up to third in the last FIFA rankings released before the World Cup starts in one week.

Reigning world champions Spain remain top of the rankings, released Thursday, followed by Germany with Brazil moving ahead of Portugal, who drop to fourth.

Argentina move up two spots to fifth with England up one place to join the top 10. Greece fell to 12th and France dropped one place to 17th.

Croatia who play Brazil in the opening World Cup match on June 12 move up two places to 18th.

African champions, Nigeria unchanged in the monthly FIFA ranking released today.

Last month,the Super Eagles moved up to 44th in the overall ranking and sixth in Africa. The Super Eagles polled a total of 640 points and will be looking at gathering more points to rise up on the log.

Meanwhile, Algeria is now ranked highest in Africa, moving up three places to 22 in the world.

Côte d’Ivoire went down two places to 23rd and second in Africa, while Egypt who will not be at the World Cup went down twelve places to 36th in the world .
