Rising from their meeting held recently in Ikorodu, they said their decision followed their assessment of governorship aspirants from the division.

Speaking through Chief Tajudeen Jaiyesimi, the group disclosed that it decided to do the assessment to come up with the best man for the job.

The ILIP said this was without prejudice to the efforts of Ikorodu Division Resource Group, IDRG, which is undertaking a similar assessment.

According to Jaiyesimi, the meeting, after carefully assessing the governorship aspirants, overwhelmingly chose Solomon as their candidate.

He hinged this on the wide acceptance of the APC chieftain, his vast political experience and his grassroots acceptability.

He reasoned that it was expedient for Ikorodu division to come up with a choice that could deliver the goods as far as the election was concerned.
