2015: Atiku storms Gombe, Yobe solicits support from delegates

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and APC presidential aspirant, has solicited the support of party delegates for his ambition to become Nigeria’s president in 2015.

Abubakar called for the support while addressing the delegates of Gombe and Yobe states in Gombe on Sunday.

He expressed the desire for their votes during the party’s primaries, to enable him to succeed during the exercise.

According to him, he has spent over 30 years in politics and he deserves to be the president of Nigeria, “being the person who knows Nigeria’s problems”.

He said if voted in to power, he would protect the right of ordinary Nigerians and promote peaceful coexistence among all interest groups nationwide.

Abubakar called on Nigerians to also protect themselves from the current insurgency in the country, especially in the North East.

He said that the insurgency in the zone had disrupted the economy of the region.

Magaji Doho, Chairman, APC Gombe State, assured Atiku of full support by the state chapter and the delegates.

According to him, the insecurity in the zone has affected many people, adding that Atiku’s efforts has reduced the menace in Adamawa.

He expressed optimism that this time around, the presidential seat would return to North East.

The chairman further commended the aspirant for his foresight to invest in his North East zone and the country at large.
