There are unconfirmed reports that Godsday Orubebe, Nigeria’s former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs is set to join the All Progressives Congress.
Orubebe who gained notoriety for almost ruining the last presidential election wrote on Twitter, @ElderGOrubebe, his intentions to join the party. “I have concluded plans to join my folks in the APC to champion and sustain the movement for a better Niger Delta in the new administration,” he said on the Twitter account which is yet to be verified by PM News.

He followed that another tweet that read: “Details will be released soon. Thank you all,” he simply wrote.
It will be recalled that Orubebe became an item during the last election when he tried to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega from proceeding with results from states across the country.
Orubebe who was a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, agent during the election threw caution to the wind, claiming the PDP protested the election results in Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa states.
“You are partial. You have been compromised. We cannot take it from you again. We have no confidence in what you are doing. This cannot continue,” Orubebe said.
