The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the March 28 Lagos-West Senatorial election, Mr. Segun Adewale a.k.a. Aeroland on Tuesday told the Lagos State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ikeja, western Nigeria, that he won the election.

Aeroland said this while testifying before the three-man Tribunal headed by Justice Sylvanus Oriji.

The PDP candidate is contesting the declaration of All Progressives Congress (APC)candidate, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the winner of the election.

He had in his petition prayed the tribunal to nullify the declaration of Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as winner of the 28 March, 2015 election.

Under cross examination by counsel to Adeola (Yayi), APC and INEC, Adewale insisted that he won the election, adding the result got from his agents clearly showed that he won the election.

Adewale insisted that there were irregularities in the conduct of the election, adding that the results submitted by wards did not correspond with the card readers.

‎He further alleged that election did not hold in some wards among other irregularities.

Asked whether he monitored the election in all the local governments where he alleged irregularities, Adewale said he did not leave his polling unit but monitored other areas through his agents deployed to all the local governments.

The tribunal consequently adjourned till Wednesday for Adeola (Yayi) to open his defence.
