As part of a grand plan to mark its fifth year anniversary in Nigeria, leading digital TV operator in Africa, StarTimes has announced that 10 lucky StarTimes subscribers are to enjoy an all-expense paid trips to Germany to watch matches in the Bundesliga.
This is the highlight of the promotion, “Win a Trip”, introduced by StarTimes to celebrate its five years of operation in Nigeria.
Speaking at the media unveiling of the programme yesterday at the Protea Hotel in Ikeja, Public Relations Manager at NTA Star-TV Network, Mr Israel Bolaji, said that the “Win a Trip” promo will kick off on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
StarTimes signed a five-year deal to exclusively broadcast all the top Bundesliga league football live in Nigeria on its Sport channels, including Star Sport Premium, Star Sports 2 and Star Sports Focus as part of its renewed bid to boost sports offerings.
“To qualify, a StarTimes subscriber should recharge for two months and get 50 per cent discount on the second month while new customers within the period can also do the same and participate in the promo.
“Everyone can be a winner. While ten lucky people will have the opportunity to travel free to Germany, everybody else can get 50 per cent discount upon recharge. Not only that, there are lots of other prizes to be won, including digital TV sets with inbuilt decoders, 2.5KVA generating sets, Solar 5 android mobile phones and other gift items. Everybody can win something. The promo will run till end of September,” he noted.
Also speaking at the event, Marketing Manager of NTA Star-TV Network, Somoye Habeeb, said that the first of the draws is to hold on July 31 with others listed for August 14, September 4 and September 30.
“What this means is that every subscriber who recharge for two months is qualified to be part of the draw for the trip to watch the Bundesliga matches. Football lovers can now enjoy super sporting action and entertainment watching their favourite stars like Frank Ribéry and Philipp Lahm in action for heavyweight clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, FC Shalke 04 and others,” he noted.
The Bundesliga with an average viewership of 45,134 fans per game during the 2011–12 season is watched on television in over 200 countries globally.
German Bundesliga is one of the top Football Leagues in the world, currently ranked 3rd in Europe according to UEFA’s league coefficient ranking, based on recent European performances.
The new season will begin in the first week of August and matches will be broadcast live on all StarTimes sports channels; including, Sports World Football, Sports Premium HD, Sports Premium, Sports 2, Sports Life and Sports Focus.
The next season starts on August 1 with the Super Cup between Bundesliga champions FC Bayern München and DFB Cup winners VfL Wolfsburg and the first match day kicking off on August 14, 2015 and running until May 2016.
