The Delta House of Assembly, on Tuesday in Asaba screened and confirmed the nomination of five more commissioners sent to the House by Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the screening was presided over by the Speaker, Mr Monday Igbuya.
The five nominees are Mr Peter Mrakpor, Dr Nicholas Azinge, Mr Ernest Ogwezzy, Mr Bright Edejewhro and Mr Oghenekaro Ilolo.
NAN reports that with Tuesday’s confirmation, the House had screened and confirmed a total of 20 commissioner nominees.
NAN recalls that the governor sent a list of his nominees to the Assembly on Sept. 8.
Also on Tuesday, the Assembly screened and confirmed the appointment of Mr Frank Enekorogha as the Director-General, State Direct Labour Agency (DLA).
Others screened and confirmed as directors of the agency are Mr Smart Meka, Mr Blessing Enamuotor and Mr Austin Bebteidor.
The motion for the confirmation of the nominees was moved by the Majority Leader, Mr Tim Owhefere and seconded by Mr Daniel Yingi, representing Burutu 1 constituency.
