Governor Ajimobi, who gave the charge Thursday in a state broadcast to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence, said: “I implore all Nigerians to keep faith in our President, Muhammadu Buhari as he is fighting corruption and other vices in the country.”

The governor also enjoined the residents of the state to support his efforts in increasing internally generated revenue, pointing out that “the fact that the state is depending on the Federal Government in all things calls for attention. Allocation coming from the federal government is not enough to pay salary and do other meaningful things. We need the support of the people to generate more funds in the area of internally generated revenue. We have encouraged collective participation and we must imbibe and continue with this orientation.”

Ajimobi, who urged parents not to leave their children’s education to government and teachers alone, said that parents should be actively involved in the education of their children.

He commiserated with families of those that recently lost their lives in Saudi Arabia, urging them to take the incident as an act of God.
