The State Government has disclosed that it would commit more resources to the upgrading of public schools infrastructure in the New Year and prioritise the welfare of its teaching staff to motivate them to work harder.

The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who stated this on Tuesday at the End of the Year party organised by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for Head Teachers and Directors of the Board, explained that the present administration is not unaware of the decay of some public schools infrastructure.

Adebule, who also doubles as the supervisor for the Ministry, noted that she was not too pleased with the state of infrastructure in some public schools she had visited and has secured the assurance of the Governor for the upgrade of State schools and improvement on instructional materials that will guarantee quality learning in schools.

while disclosing that Governor Ambode has also mandated the Ministry of Education and all its relevant agencies to ensure that the state does not achieve anything lower than distinction in all external examinations that will be conducted in the state from next year, Adebule said the government has concluded plans to put necessary facilities in place to facilitate better performance in all its schools in the coming year.
