Robber burnt to death as two others escape

It was a sad end for an armed robber who fell off a motorcycle while escaping after an operation, he was immediately set ablaze by an angry mob in Lagos State western Nigeria

The incident happened on Monday at Abule Ado area in Satellite Town Lagos.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the robber and two other suspects invaded a popular supermarket with loaded guns, forcing the owner to surrender before they robbed him.

But while attempting to escape they ran into trouble.

According to the police, three armed hoodlums on motorcycle allegedly entered the popular Matrix Stores at Abule-Ado, Satellite and robbed the owner of his phones and other items.

However, a patrol team attached to Satellite Division was contacted and through their prompt response, was quickly mobilized to the scene to engage the hoodlums.

In the process, one of the robbers was shot on the leg and a double barrel gun with two cartridges and all the robbed phones and items were recovered.

The wounded hoodlum allegedly fell down from the motorcycle while he was trying to escape after sustaining the gun shot.

He was burnt to death by angry mob who were present before he could be rescued by the police.

The Lagos Police public Relation Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos confirmed the incident.

She said the police have intensified efforts to arrest the other two escaped suspects for prosecution.

Badmos reiterated that the police is committed to getting rid of robbers and any form of criminality in Lagos State.

She urged the public to continue to support and provide useful information to the police
