The Child Protection Network (CPN), Minna has taken back to school four girls of Women Teachers College (WTC) Minna, who were earlier withdrawn for marriage.
Mr David Yisa, Coordinator of the group, disclosed this in Minna on Monday.
He said the intervention made it possible for the parents to allow the girls continue with their education.
He explained that the group had also returned seven children who came to Minna from Kafachan in Kaduna State by rail in search of manual job.
“We succeeded in uniting them with their respective parents through the support of the State Ministry of Women Affairs, ” he said .
Yisa said the measure was part of the group’s efforts in protecting the right of the Nigerian child.
He appreciated the support of the National Human Rights Commission to the group.
The coordinator solicited the support of traditional and religious leaders in sensitising parents on the importance of child right and western education.
He said proper sensitisation would enable parents give proper training to their children.
“As leaders of tomorrow, all hands should be geared towards providing qualitative and sound education for the children to excel.”
Yisa observed that the only legacy responsible parents and government would leave behind for future generation is education.
“We are battle ready to compliment the efforts of government in providing academic excellence for our children through proper awareness on what the society intends to benefit through their education,” he said .
