The Enugu State Commissioner for Local Government, Chief Chijioke Edoga, has advised the 17 council chairmen in the state to prioritise security matters in their council areas.

Edoga told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Wednesday that the advice became imperative in view of the prevailing security threats around the nation.

The commissioner called on the chairmen to liaise with the traditional rulers in beefing up security in their communities.

According to him, the traditional rulers in the villages are in a better position to detect suspicious movements in their respective communities.
