Sokoto State University Governing Council has approved the appointments of Malam Sani Sahabi and Dr Ibrahim Maidamma as University Bursar and Librarian respectively.
The university’s Information Officer, Mr Zayyanu Shehu, on Friday that the appointment was approved during councils 17th meeting held on ‘March 20 and March 21, 2018.
Shehu said the appointments were conveyed in separate letters dated March 22, 2018, and signed by Hajiya Amina Garba, the institution’s Registrar and Secretary to the council.
According to him, the appointment letters stated that both appointments are for a period of five years in accordance with the university law.
He explained that until his appointment, Sahabi was on Sabbatical Leave to Sokoto State University, Sokoto.
He said Sahabi was at various times Chief Internal Auditor, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Bursar, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna.
Shehu added that Sahabi is a member of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
The information officer further explained that Dr Madamma was also on Sabbatical Leave to Sokoto State University, where he served as acting University Librarian before his appointment.
Shehu said Maidamma was one time Librarian of Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau and a member of Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria.
Both of them had already assumed duty.
