The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun, Prince Dapo Abiodun has extended an olive branch to the incumbent Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, urging him to bury whatever differences existing between them and support his Governorship ambition.

Abiodun, who appointed his campaign committee spoke with Journalist after the appointment held at the former governor’s house, Chief Olusegun Osoba’in Abeokuta, appreciated the governor and referred to him as his friend.

“I want to appreciate the incumbent Governor who is a friend of mine. We may have differences but that does not remove the fact that we are both members of one party and that is APC.

“He (Amosun) is a very good Governor by far, he has done very well in the State”, Abiodun said.

Abiodun promised to deliver good governance to the people of Ogun State; focus on improving the lives of civil servants, and implement programmes that would encourage development and growth which included a revamp of the agriculture sector which he described as an avenue for creating jobs,Ogun is an agrarian state.

He promised to work hard to improve the ranking of Ogun on the local and global ease-of-doing-business index using his business idea to increase the economic status of the State.

The governorship candidate assured that he would build on what the governor had done if elected in 2019.

“We are promising the people of Ogun State good governance, we are going to focus on improving the lives of our civil servants, we will come up with programmes that will encourage developments that are good for them.

“We are determined to ensure that in the first year of our government they will be feeding in Lagos from Ogun State. Coming from the oil and gas background, I understand how to generate power, we are going to encourage good power supply by so doing we will attract foreign and local industries and for people to come and invest in our state,” he said.

He appealed to all his party members to forget their individual differences and join him to work towards the party’s victory in the state in the forth coming election.

He also called on all party faithful, to unite for the task at hand and for the good of the people.

He reminded them that there is a good reason why the quote “Unity makes strength” is the national motto of several entities and countries including Belgium, Bolivia and Bulgaria.
