Two second half goals helped Kwara United defeat visiting Niger Tornadoes of Minna 2-0 in Ilorin on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the match day 10 of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex.
Kwara United wasted many scoring chances in the keenly contested first half with the duo of former Niger Tornadoes strikers, Segun Alebiosu and Ebenezer Odeyemi, the most culprits.
The Harmony Boys restarted the game the better side in the second half but the visitors were disciplined with their defending.
Nosir Afeez netted the opener in the 69th minute through a well-taken and executed free kick which sent the stadium into frenzy.
Eleven minutes later, the captain of Kwara United, Luqman Binuyo, sealed the match for the Harmony Boys with another fantastic free kick from 30 meters.
Kwara United will now travel to Katsina to face the Chanji Boys in a Match Day 11 encounter on Wed. Feb. 27.
