Late start but large voters turnout in Lagos

Though voting started late in most polling stations in Lagos but there is a large turnout of voters as the exercise commenced in the state.

In most of the polling booths visited in Ojodu Berger, voting did not start until 9.30am.

PMNEWS reports that there was a large turnout of voters at Ward 2, Unit 31 Akinsowon Street, Akiode Bus Stop, Ojodu Berger but voting voting commenced much later as officials of INEC did not turn up at the sceduled time of 8am.

At Ward 2, Unit 32, Adeniyi Oke Street, Akiode, Ojodu Berger, voting did not commence until 9.30am as officials waited for the complete voting materials to commence voting. Low voters turnout was observed at this unit.

There was also low voters turnout at Unit 42 Ward 2 at Adeniyi Oke Street, Akiode Bus Stop, Ojodu Berger. Some prospective voters were observed checking their names on the voters list while INEC staff await some materials for the election to commence.

At Unit 016 Ward 2 Akiode Ojodu Berger, there was a large turnout of voters but voting commenced late as INEC officials await voting materials like ballot boxes and others which came late. Same scenario was also observed at Ward 2 Unit 15.

At Ward 2 Unit 18 located at Ojodu Senior Grammar School, there was a large turnout of voters while voting started at 9.42am. Voting started around 10.32am at Ward 2 Unit 017. There were two polling units at the centre.

Also at Unit 012 Ward 2 at Ojodu Primary School, Grammar School bus stop, Ojodu Berger, there was problem with the card reader while at Unit 013 Ward 2, voting commenced at 11.10am with a large turnout of voters.

There was also a large turnout of voters at Unit 30 Ward 7, Oke-Ira, Ogba. Voting commenced early while many voters commended INEC for the preparations.

PMNEWS gathered that nine people were arrested in Somolu local government area of the state for molesting voters.
