Cristiano Ronaldo has left Turin, Italy to visit with his hospitalised mother, in his island home of Madeira, Portugal.

His 65 year-old mum, Dolores Aveiro had stroke early Tuesday and was rushed Dr Nelia Mendonca Hospital in the island’s capital of Funchal.

In a tweet on Tuesday night, expressed appreciation for all the messages of support for his mum, but begged for privacy.

“She is currently stable and recovering in hospital. Me and my family would like to thank the medical team looking after her, and kindly ask that we are all given some privacy at this time”, he wrote..

News report said after Ronaldo landed in his private jet at about 4pm , he was driven straight to the hospital, along with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and first son, Ronaldo Jr or Cristianinho.

Earlier reports said Ronaldo’s mum was ‘conscious and stable’.

Cristiano, 35, is due to play for Juventus in the Italian cup on Wednesday night.
