Nigeria’s Habibat Abiola Ogunbanwo won the first heat of the Olympics women’s 100m Freestyle on Wednesday.

But she didn’t make the semi-finals.

The 17 year-old based in Australia smashed a 14-year-old national swimming record, finishing strongly and swimming to a new Personal Best of 59.74 seconds.

But her timing was not good enough for the medal zone, as she did not make the 16 picked for semi-finals.

However, Habibat now holds two Nigerian Swimming Records- 2:13.17 in the 200m Freestyle.

Today, she took down Ngozi Monu’s 14-year-old Record of 1:00.50.
