AdvoKC, a civic-tech platform that aims to bring truth to politics in Nigeria and also measure government performance in the country is set to launch.
Co-founder and team lead, Abiola Durodola revealed this in a press release on Wednesday after AdvoKC emerged the second runner-up at BudgIT’s 10th-year anniversary hackathon.
The idea was listed among the top three finalists after scaling through the rigorous selection process.
According to Mr. Abiola, civic-tech is still running beta testing of the idea via Substack and would launch its web portal a few weeks from now.
“Every election cycle politicians make tons of promises. Therefore, through our platform, we want to ensure that most of what the government promised matches what they do,”
“Our platform will show citizens the progress made on promises and they can use that to hold their leaders accountable on the promises they made during the election,” he said.
Sheidu Habib, the Co-founder and Head, Research and Strategy said the team is committed to reaching Nigerians through its unique approach and partnership with several organizations.
“We have built the Buharimeter and HOR meter. With our team of committed young persons, we’ll be expanding to Governors’ Promise Meter to track elections promises made in Anambra.
