Tottenham have made contact with Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard over a potential move to north London.
After the midfielder’s promising loan spell at West Ham during the second half of last season, his return to Manchester United has seen him get relegated to the bench once again.
Since the appointment of interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, the midfielder is yet to feature in any league game for United.
He only tasted few minutes of action during their 1-0 win against Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round.
Spurs’ interest comes after Antonio Conte spoke of his desire to improve the squad he inherited from Nuno Espírito Santo.
Conte has made it clear Spurs are lagging behind their rivals, and said after their defeat to his former club last week that they are in need of a rebuild
The London club is set to offload Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Matt Doherty to free up space for new signings like Lingard and Adams Traore, to beef up its squad.
