Covid-19 not over, NCDC posts 7 deaths, 250 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), reported 250 new cases of COVID-19  in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for Tuesday .

The NCDC also announced seven people dying of COVID-19 complications, bringing the country’s death toll to 3,133.

It said the seven deaths were backlogs from Ondo State between January 11 and 23.

In the last nine days, Nigeria reported daily COVID-19 cases below 300 .

With 250 people testing positive for the virus on Tuesday, the country’s COVID-19 tally jumped to 252,678.

The discharged rose to 227,491, after another 487 patients were given clean bill of health on Tuesday.

In the new cases, Lagos State, which has proclaimed an end of the 4th wave of the virus recorded 122 cases.

However, NCDC said the cases included 90 recorded between 20 January and 23 January.

Gombe recorded 44 cases, FCT Abuja 20, Kaduna 19 and Borno 16.

Delta and Ondo reported seven cases each, while Rivers had six cases.

Jigawa and Oyo reported three cases each.

Bauchi, Kano and Ogun reported one case each.
