Gunmen have killed Gbenga Ogbara, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Atakunmosa East Local Government of Osun State.
Gbenga Ogbara was said to have been shot dead at midnight in his living room.
His remains have been deposited at the Westley Guild Hospital, Ilesa.
The wife and the son of the deceased also sustained gunshot wounds and are being treated.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
She said: “The APC chairman was killed around 12am by some gunmen. Policemen have since been deployed to the area. Investigation is ongoing on the matter. The criminals will not escape justice.”
Members of the party have now mobilized to the Hospital where the corpse is deposited.
They lamented that no step was taken by the police despite several complaints about the security situation in the area.
