Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said that the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will generate, transmit and distribute 15,000 MW of electricity within one year if elected the next president of Nigeria.

Amosun, who is a former governor of Ogun state made the pledge while addressing thousands of party loyalists at the Ake palace in Abeokuta where he campaigned for the party’s Presidential candidate.

He lamented that the country is currently facing leadership failure but that with the emergence of Tinubu as the next president, everything would be fixed, especially the problems of security and unemployment bedeviling the nation.

He said “I got to Abeokuta this morning, they said there is no light, I said no problem we will get there. I mentioned it during the campaign when I was addressing at the APC convention. I know Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Party APC , we will improve it. Within one year or so we will improve the issue of light.

“With Tinubu as the next president, we will generate 15000MW, we will not just generate, we will transmit, and distribute, because it’s of no consequence, it is of no use to us when we generate, we cannot transmit, when we transmit we cannot distribute.”

“I don’t see any reason why Nigeria should not buy a 100,000MW. A lot of things can be done. There are lots of challenges facing the country now like security challenge, people will leave school and no job and I know with Tinubu, we will overcome all these challenges.

Amosun an aspirant in the just concluded APC primaries also disclosed that his personal interest in presidency was just 20 percent while 80 percent was that of the south-west because he did not want the ticket to go to North again.

Amosun said “My wanting to become the president of Nigeria is 20 percent, and 80 percent of it was for us in the south, I want the presidency to come to the South West. Behold, Almighty God has answered that prayer.

“Ultimately, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is our flag bearer will be the president of this great nation Nigeria. Extend the support and love that you have been given me to our party at the national level.”
