Grammy award-winning singer, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, has released a new music single, “Break My Soul”.

The single was released after the American singer announced that her album “Renaissance” will drop on Friday, July 29th, 2022.

Renaissance is the follow-up to Beyonce’s 2016 album Lemonade, which was her sixth consecutive number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

Speaking on the new single on Monday night, Beyonce said “Bey is back and I’m sleeping real good at night.”

‘Break My Soul’ matches an earlier set tradition for the Juneteenth holiday, a day to celebrate the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans.

“You won’t break my soul, I’m telling everybody,” the 40-year-old singer repeats in the chorus.

“Release your anger, release your mind / Release your job, release the time / Release your trade, release the stress / Release the love, forget the rest,” continues the new track, which features interjections from rapper Big Freedia.

The catchy dance-friendly track was hailed as “reviving 90s house/dance” as fans raved about it on social media.

One wrote: “I love the fact that we never know where Beyoncé is going musically. Break My Soul is the first single but the album could sound completely different. That’s what is so fun about a Beyoncé era. All you know for sure is that you’ll get superb quality music and visuals!”
