A Federal high court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a suit filed against the emergence of Dr Oladipupo Adebutu as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun state by an aspirant, Jimi Lawal.
The court, presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo in the suit Jimi Lawal vs PDP, INEC and Dr Oladipupo Adebutu confirmed that the choice of delegates to vote at a primary is exclusively within the domain of a political party and it therefore court lack the jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
The Court said entertaining the will mean delving into who is the proper delegate to vote at primaries.
During the PDP governorship primary for Ogun governorship election, Jimi Lawal had complained the list of delegates he has was different from the one submitted to INEC.
He then walked away with his supporters and did not participate in the primary.
