In commemoration of Moppet’s one year anniversary, its founder and Chief Executive Officer, Roberta Oyedokun has emphasized rich meals made with the five groups of healthy food for children as a rationale for Nigeria’s children’s healthy lifestyle.

The instant Cereal and Porridge specially made for Babies as Toddlers was said to be innovated solely to tackle children’s malnutrition in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole as against food with additives that can interfere with childrens hormones, growth, and development.

Oyedokun also spoke against the general belief of malnutrition as generic to the poor. She expressed his voyage towards parents who feed their babies with foreign products because most foreign products are not natural as they contain GMO crops.

“When we talk about malnutrition in children, most parents think only children in rural areas are malnourished, but the truth is a lot of children from urban cities with richer parents also suffer malnutrition and obesity because of wrong food choices. That is why we are asking them to make the right choice by choosing Moppet for their children and toddlers,” she said.

According to Oyedokun, Moppet Foods is made with 100% clean and natural ingredients from local farmers with adequate nutrients needed for babies to grow into sharp, brilliant, and healthy children.

“Eating natural and healthy food has no secret, we all know what it has on all of us. The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. But in today’s world of busyness where is the time to get hold of that?”

“By giving your children Moppet, you are sure they are getting the essential and diverse meals from the 5 groups of healthy food that their body needs, meals that contain protein, calcium for growth and development, Fruit and vegetables for energy, vitamins, antioxidants, fibre and water.

”These nutrients help to protect your baby from diseases later in life, including diseases like heart disease, stroke and some cancers. Our cereal range is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, a major building block of the brain,” she said.

“Moppet variants are formulated through clinically researched formulas to cover children’s basic nutritional needs. The products are made from naturally grown grains with no added sugar, colouring, preservatives, flavour or chemicals. They are developed by certified child nutritionists and experts in pediatric nutrition to ensure safety, efficacy, and the highest quality.”

Speaking on Moppet affordability, Oyedokun accentuates proper planning and forecasting as a working parameter for cost-efficient proxy. He said that Moppet is pocket friendly despite Nigeria’s economic position, raw materials scarcity, and insecurity.

“we have grain farms in the North and fruits farms in the West, we own fishing businesses in the South where we work directly with fishermen who process fish for us directly from waters. We also partner with farmers across the country directly” she added.

“The economy is harsh, what is Moppet doing to ensure low-income earners are not left out?
Initially, when we started, we had only 500gs, because of the harsh reality the of economy, we have introduced the 300gs and 100gs packs respectively so that low-income earners can afford the nutritious products,” she said.
