Fullkrug equalised for Germany

Germany fought back from a goal down to earn a crucial point after Niclas Fullkrug’s late strike against Spain on Sunday.

The match ended 1-1. The result still keeps Germany in the tournament and hope to beat Costa Rica by many goals to stand a chance of qualifying from E.

They must however, thank Costa Rica for pulling a shock victory against Japan earlier in the day.

After a barren first half, Spain opened scoring through substitute Alvaro Morata on 62nd minute of the game.

It was a superb work from Jordi Alba, who played a vital role in the build-up. He squared it to Morata, who beat Manuel Neuer with a brilliant shot into the left side of the net to give Spain 1-0 lead.
