Peter Obi posts landslide victory in Anambra

Peter Obi of the Labour Party has claimed a landslide victory in Anambra State, defeating Asiwaju Bola Tinubu by an extremely wide margin.

He defeated Tinubu by a margin of 579,510 votes.

According to the result announced by the Anambra State Collation Officer, Prof. Nnenna Otti, Obi polled 584,621 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who garnered 9,036 votes to come second.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate polled 7,388 votes to come third, while Tinubu scored 5,111 votes and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 1,967 votes.

According to Otti, the total number of registered voters was 2,536,156, while number of accredited voters was 628,590, total valid votes was 613,861 while total number of void votes was 10,751 and total votes cast was 624,612.
