Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers

Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Rivers State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Fubara winner of the election having polled majority of the votes and satisfied the requirement of the law.

Fubara polled 302,614 votes to emerge winner of the controversial and disputed election marred by lots of violence.

Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came second in the election, polling 95,274 votes.

Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) came third, scoring 46,981 votes, while the Labour Party’s candidate, Beatrice Itubo, came fourth. She scored 22,224 votes.
