Over one month after Nigeria’s presidential election, Google has released fresh statistics about the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, his defeated challengers, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar.

The latest statistics on Google Trends shows that Tinubu has widen the gap as the most searched persons among the three on google.

The statistics released by Google Trends spanned between 18 March and 14 April, 2023.

The president-elect polled 54% to emerge as the most searched candidate among the trio. Despite his absence from public glare, he is still the most searched candidate based on google search interest.

Tinubu has moved nine percent up from the 45 percent search interest he got three days to the presidential election.

Obi came a distant second with 36 percent search interest despite ‘Obidients’ rave on social media. He has moved seven percent up from the 29 percent search interest he garnered three days to the presidential election.

Atiku of the PDP has eight percent search interest on google trends. He is the biggest loser so far among the three. He dropped from 23 percent search interest he garnered three days to the presidential election to eight percent, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) dropped one place to two percent.

Tinubu was searched in places according to ranking, such as Ebonyi State, Abia, Sokoto, Cross River, Gombe, Borno, Bauchi, Anambra, Taraba, Yobe, among others.

Obi is mostly searched in places according to ranking, such as Ebonyi State, Taraba, Anambra, Imo, Cross River, Enugu, Nasarawa, Abia, Kebbi, Plateau, among others.

Atiku is being searched the most in places such as Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Sokoto, Taraba, Kaduna, Plateau, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kano, among others.
