In another development, the Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo on behalf of other lawmakers made an appeal to members of the State Chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria to shelve their strike as the state government was already looking into their requests.

The Speaker counseled that after observing their warning strike, the PASAN members should take a cue from the Nigeria Labour Congress at the national level, which had shelved its planned strike to allow for negotiations in the spirit of collective bargaining.

According to him, since government was already considering their requests, the workers should reciprocate the gesture by calling off the strike.
