Self-styled Prime Minister of Biafra land and the Biafra Republic Government In Exile, Simon Ekpa has asked the people of the South East to ignore the purpoted letter by detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, ordering him to stop calling for sit-at-home in the region.

Ekpa, said this in a post on his verified twitter handle @simon_ekpa in reaction to the purported letter from Kanu asking him to stop calling for sit at home order in the South East to protest his continued detention.

Kanu, had also in the letter read out to journalists by Aloy Ejimakor, one of his lawyers, asked Ekpa who is based in Finland to stop his antagonism to state governors because he (Ekpa) is not in position to know what they are doing on his behalf.

In the letter which was confirmed as authentic by IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, Kanu had also asked Ekpa to publicly acknowledged the directive he gave in the letter.

The detained IPOB leader reiterated his opposition to sit-at-at- home order on Mondays and on other days as usually declared by Ekpa because of the hardship it is inflicting on the people.

The letter reads: “Simon, this is a direct order from me. I hereby instruct you to desist from calling for any sit-at-home henceforth.

“Equally refrain from antagonising governors or persons in political positions because you are not in a position to know what they are doing on my behalf.

“I am ordering you to make a public announcement to the effect that you are in receipt of a direct order from me to cancel any Monday or future sit-at- home order in place at the moment.

“I embarked on the movement to liberate our people not to enslave them. I despise and despise any person or entity that wishes to inflict unnecessary hardship on our people.

“I have authorised Alloy to issue a press statement if you fail to make this announcement on your platform.”

But in a swift reaction Ekpa has asked the people of the South East to ignore the letter.

He declared the letter fake and a misrepresentation of Kanu.

He insisted that the detained IPOB leader must be released from detention before he can give any such order.

Ekpa said: “Our attention has been drawn to the fake letter from the pit of hell being paraded by Nigeria media claiming that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wrote a letter. It is not only a joke but an insult taking (sic) too far that the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra is being misrepresented in this way.

“As the Prime Minister of Biafra under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I call on all Biafrans to disregard the fake letter coming from DSS. We can’t take any order from the Islamic DSS and that is final. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be released and he must address Biafrans from Finland. That is the condition of the Prime Minister of Biafra and the Biafra Republic Government In Exile.”
