Manchester City beat Sevilla 5-4 on penalties on Wednesday to win the Super Cup.

The game ended 1-1 on duration, with penalty shootouts needed to decide who will the Super Cup.

City players converted all five kicks while Sevilla converted four.

Sevilla had opened scoring midway into the first half. Youssef En Nesyri latched on to a good cross into the box from Marcos Acuna, steering his header from close range off the post into the bottom left corner, with Ederson helpless.

City equalised on 63 minutes. Rodri swung the ball deep into the box and found Cole Palmer unmarked, and his close-range header flew past the keeper into the roof of the net.

Two minutes later, En Nesyri collected a pass deep inside the box and decided to go for goal, his shot was on target but was intercepted by Ederson.

On 69 minutes, Palmer produced a promising shot towards the left side of the goal after his wonderful solo run, but Bono thwarted his effort.

On added time, a precise cross into the box found Nathan Ake, whose header floated just over the bar.

A minute later, Kyle Walker has a sight of goal and shot from long range but his ambitious effort flew just over the bar.
