Police dock impeached Ogun LG boss Wale Adedayo

The Ogun State Police Command arraigned the impeached chairman of of Ijebu East Local Government, Wale Adedayo before a Magistrate Court sitting at Isabo, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Adedayo was docked on Tuesday morning based on a petition filed against him by the state government following an allegation of diversion of funds belonging to the councils in the state he levelled against Governor Dapo Abiodun.

He was arrested on Monday evening by the operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, at his residence in Ijebu -Ife, in Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State.

He was immediately transferred to the state Command’s Headquarters in Eleweran where he spent the night in custody.

Adedayo has been at loggerheads with Governor Abiodun after he accused him of hijacking and diverting funds allocated to local governments in the state in a widely circulated petition.

Adedayo was impeached after the petition. But the state governor had last week vowed that he would ensure that he proved the allegations against him.
