Osun Amotekun Helmsman Adewimbi honoured for dedicated service

Success, they say is no accident, it is hard work, perseverance, studying, sacrifice and most of all, the love of what you are doing that all culminate into success.

October 1st, 2023, the 63rd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria, which also coincided with the 13th anniversary celebration of Unique FM, Ara Station, Ilesa, will never go without a mention of the meritorious service award accorded Brig. Gen. Biodun Basir Adewimbi (Retd.), the Corps Commander of the Osun State Security Network Agency, Operation Amotekun by Unique FM for his dedication and distinguished style of leadership.

According to the award committee chairman, who also is the G.M of the station, he posited that “It is hard to beat a person who never gives up”, saying that Gen. Adewimbi is a dogged leader who believes in hard work, dedication, perseverance and the will to improvise where there’s the need.

Present at the awards were other dignitaries and Royal fathers who not only graced the occasion but were there to receive their own awards too.

Presenting the award to the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun was the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, SP Yemisi Opalola who also commended the Osun Amotekun helmsman for committed service and exemplary leadership style, saying that the Osun Amotekun boss is like a lamp which cannot see its beneath but shines for others to see.

She credited him for the manner he has been running the affairs of the Osun Amotekun.

Responding, Gen. Adewimbi thanked the organizers of the event immensely, he said he never knew what he had been doing differently to deserve such an award but prayed that the Almighty Allah continue to give him the strength and willpower to do more.

He credited the success to the synergy between the Osun Amotekun and the other security agencies in the state and most especially, the Nigerian Police Force, Osun Command.
