Naira Marley

As a concerned citizen, I feel compelled to address a disturbing pattern of unwarranted scrutiny and relentless negativity surrounding Naira Marley, the artist known for his talent and provocative persona. The situation demands our collective attention.

Despite the police’s firm dismissal of any connection between Naira Marley and the tragic passing of Mohbad, a segment of society clings to the idea of Naira’s guilt. This begs the question: Why the persistent urge to cast Naira Marley in a negative light when no substantial evidence supports such claims?

It is crucial to highlight that there is no credible evidence to suggest that Naira Marley ever bullied Mohbad. Disagreements, even heated ones, are commonplace in human relationships, be they familial, professional, or amicable. However, since the occurrence in question, no instances or proof of Naira Marley or any Marlian Music affiliate engaging in harassment or bullying towards Mohbad have come to light. Mohbad, as an adult, must be held accountable for his own choices.

Now, as we endeavor to put aside the baseless allegations against Naira Marley regarding Mohbad’s tragic fate, a faction known as ‘Naira Marley Must Go Down’ (#NMMGD), led by a couple of actresses, a tenacious blogger, and a former musician turned producer, has devised a new narrative. Their agenda is evident: to bring Naira Marley to his knees, regardless of the cost.

We all share a desire for justice for Mohbad. The police have provided a comprehensive account of the events leading to his unfortunate passing. Still, the #NMMGD faction remains unappeased, with a seemingly unquenchable thirst for retribution, with Naira Marley as their primary target.

Let’s consider, for a moment, that Naira Marley indeed had disagreements with Mohbad (far from bullying). Should the proposed punishment be the ultimate one – a call for Naira Marley’s downfall, even when his only ‘crime’ was a disagreement with a colleague? Where were the voices advocating for justice in the crucial 48 hours preceding Mohbad’s tragic end? Why should Naira Marley be subjected to perpetual persecution for what was simply a falling-out, while his legitimate pursuit of a peaceful career is hindered?

This letter isn’t just an appeal for Naira Marley; it’s a call for objectivity and fairness. We must address the pressing issue at hand: Why does it appear there’s an ongoing agenda against Naira Marley, driven by those who seek to condemn him at any cost?

With sincere concern,
