Renowned singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, more widely recognized as Skales, has expressed his belief that he is not receiving the recognition he deserves in the music industry.

He asserts that he is, in his view, “the most exceptional artist.”

Skales emphasized that he feels his fans are not adequately acknowledging his talent. He made these statements during an appearance on the Hip TV show “Trending,” which is hosted by reality star Kim Oprah.

The artiste behind the hit “Shake Body” also shared that he struggled with low self-esteem in the earlier stages of his career.

He disclosed, “I only truly found myself in 2020. I grappled with a lot of self-doubt, even while producing many immensely popular songs. However, now I’ve grown more self-assured.”

Skales firmly believes that he belongs to the group of artists who played a pivotal role in taking afro beats to a global level.

He doesn’t intend any disrespect to others, but he maintains the personal opinion that he is the most outstanding artist in the field.

He perceives himself as the current sensation because he finds his current musical position truly inspiring.

He said: “I just rediscovered myself from 2020. I’ve been dealing with a lot of low self-esteem. Even while I have all the big songs in the world, I still doubt myself. But now, I’m more confident.

“I believe I’m among the set that started taking afrobeats to the world. I was honored and opportune to be part of it. I tell myself I’m the greatest artiste out there. This is no disrespect to anybody. It’s just my opinion of myself. I believe that I’m the rave of the moment because where I’m right now musically is inspiring.”
