Plan your movement: Lagos announces closure of Eko Bridge ramps for six days

The Lagos State Government has announced closure of two ramps on Eko Bridge for six days for repair and therefore diverted traffic to other routes.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi said in continuation of the ongoing repair works on Eko Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works, the Lagos State Government would be diverting traffic at Costain Roundabout Ramp to Alaka and Iganmu Ramp to Alaka from 17th November to 22nd November, 2023, a duration of 6 days.

Osiyemi said alternative routes had been mapped out for motorists from Apongbon and Apapa inwards Alaka.

He said all motorists coming from Apongbon to Eko Bridge inwards Alaka, Stadium, Funsho Williams Avenue (old Western Avenue) would be diverted to Costain roundabout through the Costain ramp inwards Iponri on the service lane to continue their journeys.

Osiyemi added that motorists heading to Alaka from Apapa, Ijora would be diverted to Iganmu inwards Costain roundabout to connect Iponri inwards Alaka, Stadium, Funsho Williams Avenue to continue their journeys.

“Alternately, Motorists from Apapa, Ijora inwards Alaka can also make use of Iganmu to Abebe Village (Nigerian Breweries) to connect Eric Moore inwards Bode Thomas road and access Alaka to reach their desired destinations

“Traffic Management and Security Personnel will be deployed to the aforementioned routes to ensure safety,manage traffic flow and reduce inconveniences.

“The State Government solicits the support and cooperation of all Motorists to ensure free flow of traffic during the roadwork,” he said.
